Saudi Arabia's Al Ittihad Jeddah team won an important and exciting win on Tuesday night against Uzbekistan's Lokomotiv of Uzbekistan in the third round of the AFC Champions League Group Stage (3-2).
With this victory, Al Ittihad raised its lead to 6 points to join Al Wahda UAE team in the second group, and Lokomotiv remained fourth with three points behind Al Rayyan Qatar.
After a first-half free-kick, the hosts opened the scoring early in the second half, 48 minutes after a successful penalty kick by veteran striker Nasser Al Shamrani.
In the 50th minute, the second goal of the dean was scored by the international striker Fahad Mousaed Al-Mawled, who was completely alone in the Uzbek goalkeeper.
The visitors reduced the lead in the 70th minute to midfielder Djamchid Skandarov, and the equalizer came from a superb header from Serbian striker Filip Rajovic after a cross from the left.
But the Saudi team regained their lead and made it 3-0 in the overtime. Fahd Al-Muallad scored from a penalty, ending the match 3-2.
