Qatar won the Asian Cup for the first time in their history, after winning the final match of the 17th edition of the tournament in the United Arab Emirates, against his Japanese team (3-1).
Qatar team managed to open the scoring in the 12th minute, after a ball lifted from the left of Akram Afif, met by striker Al-Moez Ali inside the area and tried to control it more than once and then put it in the goal with a wonderful scissors.
After just two minutes of this goal, Al-Moez had to add the second goal to Al-Anabi after a pass from Akram Afif. Al-Moez would try to score the Japanese net without the wonderful intervention from Japan's defense midfielder Maya Yoshida at the last minute.
The second came in the 27th minute of the meeting, after a series of passes and reached the ball to midfielder Abdul Aziz Hatem to launch a shot with his left foot from a distance settled in the goal to the right of the goalkeeper of the Japanese team.
Japan were unable to make a real comeback under the great organization of Qatar on the pitch and were even close to adding a third goal in the 35th minute, after passing balls inside the area, tried to end the goal in the goal, but hit the post.
With the start of the second half, Japan tried to reduce the gap, while the Qatari steadfastness continued with serious attacks, such as Akram Afif's ball to Abdul Aziz Hatem in the 55th minute, but the latter missed the goal.
Japan managed to reduce the difference in the 69th minute, after nice moves from the players on the border of the penalty area, to reach the area inside the area to Tacomi Minamoni, who was alone guard Saad Al-Shayeb, and put the ball brilliantly in the Qatari net.
The Qatari team ended the dream of the Samurai with a tie when referee Rafsan Ermetov scored a penalty for Yannida, after Yoshida touched the ball with Akram Afif and executed it on the right from goalkeeper Gonda in the 83rd minute.
